Hi all, I have been running TopSpin 2.1 on my Windows 7 32-bit OS for the last few years and now am getting this annoying message which prevents me from processing any nmr spectra. There are other computers running same OS system with no problems. This is the error message: org.omg.CORBA,MARSHALL: Buffer Underread vmcid 0x44f7000 minor code: 29 completed. Yes Buffer Underread OpenORB MinorCode CORBA Error 29. Any help would be awesome!

Might call the Bruker NMR support about that one. Are you sure the other machines are running the 32-bit OS? It sounds like you got an update that has upset TopSpin. There are very few reasons left to remain on the 32-bit platform.

I run TopSpin 1.5 on a 64-bit machine, so I assume any newer version of TopSpin will happily run on the 64-bit machines.

There is only TopSpin 1.4 pl?? no 1.5! Please have a deep look into the support matrix by Bruker! Windows is not equal to Windows and this is correct! Do you know Windows CEMENT, CE, ME, NT - now also XP, 2000, 7, 8, 10, Vista and Mobile - all are more and even less compatible! Sorry! - Ulrich Haunz (Nov 14 '14 at 03:16)

As far as I am aware, Bruker do not officially support Topspin 2.1 on Windows 7. As it happens, I have a number of older systems running Topspin 2.1 on Win 7 32 bit. There have been numerous things that I struggled with (Ghostscript being one of them - solved by running at elevated level and in XP compatibility mode). I don't remember having seen your particular error messages so maybe something else is going on here. Do you know which command causes the problem? You can check in your history file to find out (or do it by trial and error).

BTW I have never heard of Topspin 1.5! The last of the 1.x versions that I was aware of was 1.3. I have never got 2.1 to run on 64 bit Win 7 (despite trying hard).

I installed a piece of software from Oracle called ESSO (Oracle Enterprise Single Sign On) to work with our Oracle 12 Financials applications. I discovered that this conflicts with the Topspin program, both the older v2.1 and the new v3.2. Installing Oracle ESSO caused Topspin to fail when trying to display an NMR spectrum for processing.
