Hi, I am unable to activate our lift on our avance III 400 NMR from BruKer The message is emergency air lift activated. Both the inject and eject commands give this error. And I am unable to hear of air flow through the lift or any other mechanism when a lift is attempted. We could still lock on and shim to the chloroform peak. I've gone through a couple of trouble shooting pathways but so far I'm unsuccessful and getting our lift to work and shutting off the emergency air flow.

Does any one have any suggestions? I could really use the help, thanks - Tamara

I have restarted the computer, and restarted the console at separate times,

Initially we did see a Safety Sensor Valve is missing Ch1. I do not see this error in the details any more

I've removed the probe and checked the connections to the probe.

Commands I've tried in top spin are: ii
cf HA then Lock/Shim BSMS Z1000818/2969, to Service to reset ELCB, I've tried several functional tests through main

Hi Tamara,

We had this same issue several months back on an AVIII 400. The fix for us, I'm afraid, was to replace the ELCB. You may have luck with an ELCB firmware upgrade, but it did not work for us. Worth trying, however. Good luck.

Hi Mark, Thank you for your advice. Do you know what was the cause of your issue? I'm trying to track down what triggered this. Thanks again, Tamara - Tamara (May 27 '13 at 12:26)

No, I'm afraid they never told me what was wrong with the old board. I was never aware of a cause...the first instance was with an undergraduate student user. I don't think it was her fault, but you never know... -Mark - wilsonmv (May 27 '13 at 18:53)
