I am hoping to get some help for setting up a macro to get the NMR to find z0 and auto-shim onto a standard sample after completing a series of automated runs. I like to keep the magnet locked onto our sample overnight and on weekends, but when I set up a series of automated runs that go well after I leave for the day, it doesn't automatically re-lock on its own. Currently I have it set up to re-insert the sample after completing the automation, but I can't find any setting in the software to do this for me. So far I've only had luck getting it to find z0, but not adjust the shims to get a solid lock. Ideally I'd like to be able to set up an automated array, and after submitting the last sample, type "afk", walk away for hours, and come back to find it locked and shimmed to my sample. I'm absolutely baffled at how difficult this is turning out to be. I appreciate any help with this! asked Mar 21 '12 at 12:41 |
I'm just curious why you feel it is necessary to leave the system locked on a sample overnight and on weekends? This might have been appropriate in the days of iron magnets with flux coils and integrating stabilizers (showing my age!), but with supercons? - Kirk Marat (Mar 22 '12 at 06:50)
