I have a small distortion in the HOD peak in my 1D DOSY spectra. However, it only occurs for the HOD signal and no other peaks in the spectrum. Occasionally, I am able to "fix" this by not spinning the sample (though not always). Any help would be appreciated. asked Dec 01 '11 at 20:04 cyg |
Good diffusion data requires good temperature control and good stability. Run the self-tune on the VT unit to make sure you have optimum temperature stability. Turning VT off is only acceptable if you are satisfied with diffusion data at an unknown ambient temperature. Also, I wouldn't spin, as that might create vortex movement (like convection) in the sample. You also need good lock stability, so make sure the environment around the system is stable during your measurements. Run the "loopadj" command to optimize the lock response, and make sure that the lock phase is correct and that you are not saturating the lock. answered Dec 08 '11 at 12:35 Kirk Marat |
Thanks to Kirk Marat and VVK for your responses. However, I will not get around to testing any time soon (writing up). - cyg (Jan 03 '12 at 21:45)
