I would like to create working shaped pulse files in one step starting from mathematical expressions - one for amplitude, another for phase vs. time.

Does anyone know software that can do it?

For Varian systems you can use Pbox to create the shaped pulse. This can be done in a variety of ways, form using cursors on the screen, to macros, to integrating in the sequence, to using a shell to create the shape. Pbox uses basic mathematical equations but they integrated in the compiled program. You can specify a set of fourier coefficients and Pbox will produce the shape. So if you can characterize your new shape by a set of fourier coefficients you can do it with Pbox.

Doesn't Bruker's Topspin 2.1 pl4 have an option for this in the shapetool?

Bernie, Thanks. Does it? I can't check. If it does - could you be more specific? - Evgeny Fadeev (Aug 15 '09 at 22:06)

Evgeny, Try the command 'stdisp'. I don't know if you can put in a direct math formula, but there is an included manual with the TopSpin distribution that might be worth a look! - TJCarruthers (Apr 11 '11 at 23:12)
