Hi,

the karma system is probably a good thing for choosing who can moderate or so. But it is enoying starters a lot. As a beginner here I cannot put pictures on my posts, cant vote a question/answer up or down ... ... …..

I think an NMR forum is per se a selective thing, doesnt need much extra restriction, maybe only for admin tasks ...

Who aggrees with me? Any proposal?

thx

Karma limits are pretty low now - e.g. comment posting is unrestricted. I think this community can bootstrap itself now - you already started voting. Keep voting for good content and remind others to do the same. - Evgeny Fadeev (Jul 12 '12 at 15:26)

pretty good idea! Its a small group here anyway and large scale self-control mechanisms are'nt quite appropriate here IMO.

Do let me know which barriers are too high, I can adjust them. I've lowered the barrier to upvote (it's 1 pont now), I did not want to summarily just slash all the barriers. - Evgeny Fadeev (Jul 12 '12 at 15:28)

We'll get this site moved to better software too, I am now working on askbot.com full time. It's an open source Q&A forum software. - Evgeny Fadeev (Jul 12 '12 at 16:04)
